Help Create MuseCon!!

MuseCon (www.musecon.org) is a convention for artists, musicians, inventors, gadgeteers, makers, tinkerers, and so forth. We have lots of cool things in the works and we would like to invite you to be in on the ground floor. We want you at our convention to participate and help define the future direction MuseCon.

We're always looking for folks to help out with MuseCon in a variety of roles. Including, but not limited to, the actual running of the con, providing advice and programming participants. If you want to join the team preparing for the 2012 convention please contact us. Or, track us down at one of the other conventions and talk to us in person!

MuseCon is specifically looking for someone to coordinate our marketing. This person will be responsible find locations to advertise the convention, coordinates distribution of flyers and other advertising material at appropriate businesses (craft shops, etc.), other conventions, and to other groups such as Maker Fairs, etc. Marketing's responsibilities also include coordination of advertising by other groups in the MuseCon program book (either paid ads or ad swaps), coordinating with Publications. May also plan parties to held at other conventions and events, in coordination with the convention committee and convention chair. Marketing is part of our larger Public Relations department.

We are also looking for someone to be in charge of procurement for MuseCon. Procurement will purchases goods and services for all convention departments, researching to find the best values reasonably possible, including leveraging tax-exempt status and 501(c)(3) status. Coordinates with departments and Treasurer to stay with in budgets. Coordinates delivery of purchases with Logistics and the receiving departments.

Feel free to join us in one of our future planning meetings. We generally try to meet as a group once a month. The schedule will be here once it is decided (sometime after the convention).
